Dr. Wall has made many significant contributions to the field of career development and has been a mentor and role model for career development professionals throughout the nation.
She has written numerous books, journal articles, monographs and technical and research reports; presented hundreds of papers, workshops, speeches and training sessions to a wide variety of domestic and international audiences.
Dr. Wall played the instrumental role in the creation of the ASVAB Career Exploration Program providing millions of students with a free, comprehensive career exploration and planning experience. She designed the program materials to empower students, foster career exploration, and emphasize the importance of career planning and decision-making. Her extensive professional contributions have made a difference in the lives of literally millions of students and educators across the nation.
Identifying a need for new venues and sources of attracting students to CDF training, she innovatively established a partnership with the Maryland Career Development Association and the Virginia Career Development and School Counselors Associations to offer CDF training to members and others as a professional development opportunity. She would then expand her outreach to the DC Public Schools, Fairfax VA Public Schools and career counselors in the Philadelphia area.
As one nominator writes “Dr. Wall’s passionate work ethic, insistence on excellence and understanding of the career development needs of young people has created a high standard which is greatly appreciated, admired, and sought to emulate.”
