Chosen to Receive
American Counseling Association Award
Janet E. Wall, of Rockville, MD was recently honored by the American Counseling Association as winner of theCarl D. Perkins Government Relations Award. This award honors an ACA member who has made a significant contribution to the counseling profession by influencing public policy at the state or national level. The Award was presented at ACA’s annual conference in San Francisco, CA.
Dr. Janet E. Wall has worked at the federal, state, and school district levels in the areas of assessment, evaluation, and career development. Her work has spanned the public and private sectors from the Pre-K level through executive development. She is past president of the Association for Assessment in Counseling and Education and has been an officer in the Association for Counselors and Educators in Government, and has served on several National Career Development Association committees. As the appointed representative of the American Counseling Association to the Joint Committee on Testing Practices, she has been chair and a member of that group which produced the Code of Fair Testing Practices in Education, the ABC’s of School Testing video and leaders guide, Rights and Responsibilities of Test Takers, and a book on assessment of individuals with disabilities. She led the development of the ASVAB Career Exploration Program for DoD. She has written several books, serves on several boards, and has founded a business providing consulting services and online training to the career counseling community.
